Green, Red and Black Curated Groups

Jane’s exhibition at Ipswich Art Gallery has come to an end and the pieces are now available for purchase by the public. For more information and context around the exhibition, read Jane’s Artist Statement here.

Most of Jane’s tile pieces are 10 x 10cm so a group of 9 is roughly 30cm square. She did make some pieces as 20cm square and a few oblong pieces 10 x 20cm, or 10 x 30cm. She is including these in the groups of 9 so that the 20cm square will count and 4 tiles and the oblongs as 2 or 3 tiles depending on their size.

As lots of the tiles are made from different clay bodies, and also fired at different temperatures they have shrunk in the firing process differently making them all ever so slightly different in size.

FIXING:
The back of each tile has a notch cut out of it which enables it to hang on a screw or a nail. This is how it was installed for the exhibition. We also used some museum wax to press the pieces against the wall so that they stayed still and didn’t shift - but the screw was holding them up. It is also possible to stick them directly to a wall surface with tiling adhesive or liquid nails if they were to be permanently in place. Jane has in the past also used the velcro hanging system by Command (available at Bunnings) which is suitable for the small tiles.

SHIPPING:
Custom made cardboard boxes, with secure dividers and padding, holds one curated group and shipping rates are worked out on that size and weight. Should you wish to order more than one group, you will need to order and pay for your chosen tiles first and choose ‘Pickup from studio’ as your shipping option.
